President and Director of Operations
Kieran has worked as a paramedic for the British Columbia Ambulance Service for over thirty-five years, twenty-five of which included working as a flight paramedic. In addition, he has many years of experience in a medical education role with the Justice Institute of British Columbia. As an instructor, program coordinator, and program director, Kieran has managed all levels of paramedic training including the Canadian Armed Forces search and rescue technicians. His international experience includes coordinating the delivery of equipment, and conducting onsite training for the African Medical Relief Foundation (AMREF) Flying Doctors in Nairobi, Kenya.
Kieran maintains licensure in good standing under the paramedic licensing authority in British Columbia (Emergency Medical Licensing Branch of BC or EMALB) at the Critical Care level.
Vice President, Director of Clinical Practice
Raymond Sims is a critical care practitioner/clinician who has provided front line transport care to neonatal, pediatric and high risk obstetrical patients for over 40 years. For the past 20 years he has instructed health care providers as a subject matter expert in the field of stabilization and transport of these patients. As lead clinical instructor of the Infant Transport Program, Ray has twice been awarded the Excellence in Education Award: in 2003 by the Children’s and Women’s Health Centre of BC, and again in 2013 by BC Emergency Health Services.
Ray maintains licensure in good standing under the paramedic licensing authority in British Columbia (Emergency Medical Licensing Branch of BC or EMALB) at the Critical Care level.
A significant portion of Ray’s career has been devoted specifically to air ambulance work. He has experience teaching and training registered nurses and physicians in aero transport medicine. He has provided in flight patient care with a private air ambulance service serving the Canadian Arctic for eight years, and subsequently joined a firm operating worldwide air ambulance services. Ray is now keen to ensure that his team offers the best medical services possible to the patients entrusted to Providence Air Ambulance’s care.

Many also work with public air ambulance services and have safely looked after thousands of patients on medevac flights.
